Privacy Policy
Last updated: 1 October 2026
This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use sketchmytravels.com or order a book, how we use it, and the choices you have. We keep it to what we need to make and deliver your book.
Who is responsible for your information
Wanderfly Creative Ltd, trading as Sketch My Travels, is the controller of your personal information. We're registered in England and Wales (company number 16803760), with our registered office at 10-16 Tiller Road, London E14 8PX, United Kingdom. You can contact us about privacy at sketchmytravelsco@gmail.com.
What we collect
- Order details: your email address, the name and delivery address for your book, and what you ordered.
- Your book content: the photos you upload, captions, names for the book, your book title, any message or dedication, and your answers about the trip.
- Payment information: payments are handled by Revolut. We receive confirmation that you've paid and basic transaction details, but we never see or store your full card number.
- Messages: anything you send us by email.
- Technical information: our hosting provider records basic technical data, such as IP addresses, to keep the website running and secure.
Your photos may show other people. Please only send photos of others, including children, if you're entitled to share them with us for your book.
How we use it, and why we're allowed to
- To make and deliver your book, send your order confirmation and updates, and help with any problems. We do this to perform our contract with you.
- To keep business and tax records, as the law requires.
- To run and protect our website and prevent fraud. We do this because it's in our legitimate interests and doesn't override your rights.
We don't sell your information, and we don't send marketing emails unless you've asked to receive them. We won't use your photos, illustrations or story in our marketing without asking you first.
Who we share it with
We share only what each provider needs to do its job:
- Prodigi, our print partner, prints and ships your book. It receives your finished book files and the delivery name and address, and may share the delivery details with the carrier.
- Revolut processes your payment.
- Cloudflare hosts our website and processes your order when you submit it.
- Our email provider, for sending and receiving emails about your order.
- Google Fonts supplies the typefaces on our website, so your browser connects to Google's servers when a page loads.
We may also share information if the law requires it.
International transfers
Some of these providers process information outside the UK, for example in the United States or the European Union, and your book is printed and shipped from a facility close to your delivery address. Where information leaves the UK, we rely on UK adequacy regulations or on contractual safeguards, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum, to protect it.
How long we keep it
- Photos and book content: we delete these 90 days after your book is delivered, unless you ask us to keep them longer, for example for a reorder.
- Order and payment records: we keep these for six years, to meet UK accounting and tax rules.
- Emails: we keep these for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry, and no longer than our order records.
Cookies
We don't use advertising or analytics cookies on this website. When you pay, Revolut's checkout page may use its own cookies to process your payment securely. These are covered by Revolut's own privacy policy.
Your rights
You have the right to ask for a copy of your information, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a portable format. Some of these rights have limits. For example, we must keep order records for tax purposes. To make a request, email sketchmytravelsco@gmail.com. We'll reply within one month.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, or to the data protection authority where you live.
Keeping it safe
Your information is sent over encrypted connections and stored with providers that use industry-standard security. Only we and the providers listed above can access it, and only for the purposes described here.
Children
Our website and books are for adults to order. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 16 except as part of photos or details an adult has chosen to include in a book.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update it on this page and change the date at the top.
